Frequently asked questions

What are cosmetic injectable treatments and how do they work?

Cosmetic injectable treatments can improve the appearance of your skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and slow down the aging process. They can also correct facial asymmetry or add volume to certain areas like the lips. Dominique at Blush Injectables provides cosmetic injectable treatments using the clinically proven products Dysport®, Xeomin®, Restylane®, Belotero, Profhilo®, Viscoderm® Hydrobooster and Sunekos®.

What is Dysport® and how does it work?

Dysport® is a similar product to Botox®, acting as a muscle relaxant to reduce, soften and prevent wrinkles in the treatment area. Dysport® contains a naturally occurring protein from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It acts on the junctions between the nerves and muscles to temporarily reduce the contraction of the muscle; this results in a smoother appearance of lines and wrinkles. Dysport® has an excellent safety record, having been used effectively for years in New Zealand and across the globe.

What are dermal fillers and how do they work?
Restylane® and Belotero® are Dermal Fillers containing hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, and folds and can be used to contour the face. Dermal fillers can be used to improve hydration, restore elasticity to the skin, and reduce some skin surface irregularities. Restylane® and Belotero® results can last from 6-12 months. You can be assured of Restylane® Belotero’s® effective, safe use globally and in New Zealand, over many years.
What are fine line fillers and how do they work?

Belotero® is a fine line filler containing hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of fine facial lines. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in our skin, but as we age, our levels decrease over time. Belotero® cosmetic treatments are used to correct fine lines and hydrate the skin, giving a youthful result that can last for 6-12 months. You can be assured of Belotero’s® effective, safe use globally and in New Zealand, over many years.

What is Profhilo® and how does it work?

Profhilo® is a pure hyaluronic acid that is injected into the surface layers of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, and hydrating the skin from within. This counteracts the aging process and improves skin tone and firmness. The treatment can help with skin laxity, reduce fine lines, and give an overall youthful and luminous appearance to your skin.

What is Viscoderm® Hydrobooster and how does it work?

Viscoderm® Hydrobooster is an injectable skin booster containing hyaluronic acid that is used to restore hydration and help improve skin structure and elasticity. It offers a dual function a hydration process and tissue restructuring, together with a mechanical action to stretch the most superficial wrinkles, resulting in its hydro stretch action.  The result is a rejuvenated skin with marked increases of brightness and reduced signs of photo-aging.

What is Sunekos® and how does it work?

Sunekos® is an injectable skin booster containing hyaluronic acid and amino acids with a patent bio-regeneration formula it is the precise mixture that triggers collagen and elastin stimulation improving the signs of ageing, quality and appearance of skin.

When can I expect to see results?

Results vary depending on the type of treatment you have. Dominique at Blush Injectables will develop a personalised treatment plan with you to ensure you achieve optimal results.

With Dysport® and Xeomin® treatments, some people start to see the effects of the treatment after two to three days, but results can take two to four weeks to reach their peak. The results can last for up to five months. Results for dermal filler treatments, such as lip filler or wrinkle-reducing fillers, can be seen immediately and last for 6-12 months.

If you have a skin rejuvenation treatment with Profhilo®, Viscoderm® Hydrobooster, or Sunekos® these injectable treatments involve a series of treatments either two or three treatments each. It is recommended to have a maintenance treatment every six months to obtain optimal results.

What is Xeomin® and how does it work?

XEOMIN® is a highly purified anti-wrinkle treatment. It has been scientifically formulated to purify the active protein that is responsible for relaxing the facial muscles. XEOMIN®’s purified formulation means that, unlike other anti-wrinkle treatments, XEOMIN® is free from unnecessary additional proteins (called complexing proteins) that may, over time, increase the risk of your anti-wrinkle treatment not working. XEOMIN® can be used in adults to soften and reduce frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet lines around the eyes.
